When most people think of love poems, they think of serious and soulful expressions of passion. Long sonnets by Shakespeare or romantic poems by Browning and Lord Byron are the norm for love poetry. However, funny love poems can be good for a laugh. They may not be romantic, but they do give your friends something to enjoy.

Some of the best funny love poems are limericks. Limericks started in Ireland and follow a standard form of five lines and a rhyme scheme of aabba. Here are a few limericks written by anonymous authors:

There once was an old man of Lyme

Who married three wives at a time

When asked “Why a third?”

He replied, “One’s absurd!

And bigamy, Sir, is a crime.”

There was a young fellow named Hammer

Whose had an unfortunate stammer

“The b-bane of my life”

Said he, “Is m-m-my wife

D-d-d-d-d-d-damn...

I love writing plays similar to the works of Tennessee Williams, dramatic tragedies that are very theatrical, in that classic type of style. I want to know however, what theatre companies are looking for nowadays? I do what most playwrights do, I only write for myself and what I love. But, I’m anxious to get a few more of my plays produced and wanted to know what they look for. Also contact me if you have contacts in regional theatre for possible plays for considerations. I would say most of my dates (80-90%) come from online dating sites since it is more convenient (although I do not want to be dependent on it). However, some sites are riddled with spammers, so it definitely has it’s faults.

The traditional way of meeting people (face to face at parties, etc.) is still probably preferred.

What is your take on this? Which method do you prefer and what proportion of your dates come from online sites?

I’m just wondering what are some good ways to start dating? I’m a bit of a shy person, so at age 25, it’s starting to get a bit hopeless thinking maybe I’m starting to get uglier by the year. So I’m just wondering good ways to start dating again? I tried online dating services with no luck. I’m hearing impaired so I really can’t go to bars and stuff, but one to one conversations work very well to a certain extent.

Any ideas?

Suppose you were dating a non-veg*n and he or she suggested a restaurant with no suitable options for you, what would you say?
